GEM Health Care System® (Software)

GEM Health Care System® automates personnel and client files, payroll and scheduling in “real time” so that caregivers are released to spend more quality time with those in their care.

The system also has an optional care-assessment module, which is licensed with interRAI, the international organization which develops crucial-care data and standardizes evaluations.

The application can be accessed through a secure World Wide Web (WWW) portal as an Application Service Provider (ASP) or implemented on a client’s information technology/information management (IT/IM) infrastructure as a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) Intranet.

The system was created with the help of a research tax credit from Canada Revenue Agency’s Scientific Research and Experimental Design Program and a development grant from the National Research Council of Canada’s Industrial Research Assistance Program.

Hands-on, health care mangers with more than 30 years of experience provided input in the product development. It was refined through two years of successful field trials and organizational use.
